Yeah I expect him to get dressed up, but honestly that takes a lot less effort for a man than a woman. Making an effort for a man = putting on a button up and jeans. Making an effort for a woman = nice outfit, doing make up, hair, maybe nails, shaving legs, etc.

Yeah, you don't seem to understand that those things aren't mutually exclusive. Of course there's an attraction, that's why we would be on a date in the first place. And I do think it's appropriate for me to expect when someone asks me out to pick up the tab. If someone disagrees then they don't need to date me.
