No shit, Sherlock. Does it sound like I'm defending the Bachmanns/Palins of the world? I agree that the public discourse has certainly been dumbed down and they say a lot of batshit crazy things. Truth be told, my personal beliefs are more libertarian than anything else - I don't agree or identify with the mainstream

I agree with you, very sad.

Senate - Lisa Murkowski, Kay Bailey Hutchison, Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe (sad she's retiring), Scott Brown kinda.

I mean, there really are only two options - you vote Republican or Democrat. And I'd say a lot of the people that identify as Republican (specifically on economic issues and believing in a small government) while still supporting marriage equality and the right to have an abortion will still support Romney.

And they fluctuate so easily! I left town for a few days and had to board my 12lb-er at her doggy daycare place. I came back and she looks like a fat little football. She's very lovey and can be manipulative for food, and the owners of the "pet spa" were fawning over her when she left so I'm assuming she got extra

Sigh. Tell me about it. It's just really depressing because I would say the vast majority of young Republicans fall into that category.

This made me laugh.

You really should not just consider the ultra-Conservative aspect of the party that has unfortunately taken center stage lately. There are Republicans that are more accepting and modern on social topics while still being fiscally conservative and championing a small government.

"you ponder why her horse gets a $77,000 tax credit when your kid gets $1,000" - ummm this is just flat out wrong.

Me too!!! And he's a speed walker. Lamest Olympic sport ever.

I'm a skinny South Korean man competing in the Men's 20km Walk - yes, a speed walker.

I can see how it would be interpreted that way. I linked to that article particularly, however, because it talks about specific occurences and refers to the "Special Relationship" between the US/UK.

I don't know I didn't say it. More importantly, neither did he. And actually his entire camp said that it was a false quote. At face value, however, he just said the White House didn't fully appreciate the shared history we have. That could mean a lot of things, like referencing Obama's not so great track record

Well I'm glad that doesn't make you doubt her any more. To be clear, she wouldn't get ANY money in a criminal action - and the guilt in one really doesn't mean anything for the other (ex: OJ Simpson, not guilty in criminal court but guilty in civil). As for the civil action and the mom profiting, most courts / judges

Romney has certainly had his fair share of gaffes, but I don't think this is a fair representation. The first comment was called a false quote by the Romney camp - it wasn't worded that way and didn't represent the governor's views. That being said, I also think it's pretty clear that Anglo-Saxon in this context means

Maybe, but not necessarily. People send graphic emails without physically acting on them all the time. Also, the article doesn't speak to the content of the facebook communications - the messages could have no mention of a sexual relationship, or they could just be illuding to one. If the content isn't very explicit -

Thank you - I just replied the same thing to someone on another thread.

The article says it's unknown whether or not anything was reported to the police. There are a number of reasons to pursue a civil suit over a criminal suit - most importantly, the burden of proof is significantly lower than a criminal suit. There could be loads of circumstantial evidence, but nothing proving guilt

The delusion it takes to be a celebrity stalker is relatively easy to discern from a teenage girl saying "OMG bitch go kill yourself".

Most dogs looooove dirty underwear and used pads/tampons. It's so gross.
