I don't have a problem with using "big words". I do have a problem with using latin phrases such as "inter alia" in every day writing or conversation. IMO, it's something that should be limited to legal drafting use and/or formal business use (keeping minutes of meetings etc).

I totally do this too! I think it also helps that I'm 5'9" flat foot - even if I put on my shorter heels I end up towering over a good number of the men in my office. I kind of like having them have to literally look up to me.
