See, I think the reused environment thing could work pretty well if in fact it was used like you describe. If we kept coming back to the same places over and over for narrative reasons, finding them slightly changed each time, that could work fine. But that wasn’t really what DA2 did. They reused environments and

Commit war crimes on a fraction of the galaxy, vs all of the galaxy. Yeah, it blows (especially given that I’d made friends with the Geth), but that’s why I said “least evil option, not “most good”.

All the examples in game of people trying to deal with the Reapers, ended with them eventually being taken over.  It might take a long time, but Shep would eventually lose control, and the Reapers would begin again.  The other two options (sucky as they are) at least ended with the Reapers gone.

I would think Control is the least evil. It allows for the rebuilding of the Relay network at the very least and doesn’t commit the various acts of genocide that Destroy does.

I didn’t know about the patch; when I replayed it later, I thought it was the added ‘points’ from the various DLC that put me over the top without requiring MP. Good for them!

YES! The exact things DA:I was praised for are the things ME:A was criticized for. I really liked Andromeda, played through it 2 1/2 times.

I felt most of ME3 was lazy in comparison to the two prior games. It definitely had a lot to live up to but the tone switch, PTSD protagonist, and galactic readiness mechanic ruined it for me. We went from Star Trek to Dirty Dozen/Magnificent Seven to Saving Private Ryan while all the choices the series touted were

I too think Dragon Age 2 was underrated, but it definitely had some flaws. It was rushed, and it feels rushed. The frequent reuse of dungeon environments is painfully obvious. The sidequests feel much more cookie cutter than Origins. And they ditched Origins’ excellent dialogue system in favor of a dumbed down Mass

If I took your arm and replaced with an incredible prosthetic, everyone would see that as a horrible violation and act of violence. Now... imagine doing that to everyone’s minds and bodies in the entire galaxy. Synthesis is horrifying.

I think it’s forgotten cause the other stuff was so good in ME2, but they “solved” the issues with ME1 by basically removing it all from ME2. We know they went too far cause at least for inventory and optimization, they brought it back in ME3.

I dunno, man. I mean... The Body is an extremely rough episode of Buffy. But it’s so good partly because of the point it makes. Buffy and the Scooby Gang can face down any number of world-ending threats with all their combined powers and abilities and cleverness but death still wins. Often when you’re not looking.

Hey, I get that; like I mentioned elsewhere in this thread, I’m the guy who thinks Dragon Age II is hands-down the best in that series, so I get what it’s like choosing a hill to die on!

I know I’m strongly in the minority on this one, but I’d rather have 2 and 3 remade to be more like the first.

all respect to you, but i would hate that. maybe just fix the shooting mechanics a little, but don’t touch the loot systems or progression at all. to me they were the best in the series, though i acknowledge they aren’t for everyone.

When the previous 2-7/8's games were Heroic Space Opera, with you having the ability to Awesome your way to success against any odds (even having everyone survive the “suicide mission”)? Yeah, it’s a bit of a shift. Like you just watched a James Cameron action trilogy, but the end scenes were done by Aronofsky or

I go full destroy because I’ve lost both Tali’zorah and Legion by siding with Geth. Yes, even Legion has sacrificed himself to merge his data to the collective.

Violating the bodies and minds of every sentient being in the galaxy, against their will?  No thanks. O_o

Why would you say Synthesis is the most evil? I chose it because it seemed like the most rational moral choice to me.

Same reason I dislike the ME3 ending. Though for me Control was the least evil.

This just reminds me that I played ME1 a few times, ME2 a few times, and ME3... once. No, I wasn’t one of the “Hold the Line” idiots, I didn’t have a problem with “three color choices! AAA!”
