I feel like this thing is doomed. Either they change it and piss people off or they don’t and... piss people off. I mean, it could still work, but much like movie/TV remakes, I feel like this is going to just piss a lot of people off.

I think you’re misinterpreting it. In this case, it’s used by the type of person who will loudly argue in public about why you’re stupid for believing in God without realizing they sound exactly like the people who loudly argue in public about why you’re stupid for not believing in God.

I think it’s usually used as a rebuttal of sorts for calls of equality. Women can’t do anything that men can do because we’re stronger sorta BS. While it may be true in a general sense, you can bet that if you’re in an argument and someone trots this out, they’re probably an asshole.

More often than not? They already KNOW it’s bad. They’re trying to get it out the door so that they can A) Not spend any more money developing this terrible game and B) Make some of the money back that this terrible game cost them.

As a fellow tester, I can say that almost none of it. QA does not take equipment home, we don’t write games on Dev consoles, and we never hear the phrase, “We found all the bugs”. There were a number of testers I worked with who smoked a LOT of weed though. That part is legit.

Okay, I literally just bought this game, but I won’t have a chance to sit down to play it until this weekend. Any tips on playing it? Anything I should absolutely do or avoid? I haven’t played the previous two Witcher games... am I going to be at a total loss for what’s going on?

The trick to me is something that keeps numbers at an easy to understand level, while still allowing yourself room for variation. Like: if your high level damage is around 100, then how do you create low level weapons with any differences?
