The ocarina does look like those cheap eBay knock-offs in appearance. I wonder about the plastic edges though ... based on the picture of the included documentation, the ocarina is supposed to be smooth with no protruding sides but this ocarina obviously isn't. I'm thinking that excess plastic was supposed to be cut

So ... Rapture Day ... yesterday, I had no electricity for almost two hours. Apparently, some nutjob was driving 60+ mph (~95+ km/h) in my neighborhood and crashed into a wooden electrical pole. The neighborhood speed limit is usually 25 mph (~40 km/h).

I know this seems like a crazy thought, but I can't wait to play Dissidia with my Fight Stick.

54 hours seems pretty intense ... the estimated 70 hours required to break the record would seem rather extreme. In either case, I'd say stock up on energy drinks, meal bars, and stuff that could keep yourself awake for an extensive period of time. As long it's legal, of course.

I honestly don't see too much of a benefit when buying used games ... besides getting a cover and manual that appears in decent shape, I often value other things that probably come with a new game. If I buy from a brick-n-mortar store as opposed to Steam, I know some of the games I have came with cards with codes

Yup! Sometimes, if I'm not willing to pay 50~60 dollars on a particular PC game on release date, I might wait a bit and see if there will be a sale. This might be after playing the demo and thinking: "Hmm ... I'm not sure if I want to pay full price for this ..."

That's true— none of that Used Game Sale goes to anyone else besides the retailer. And besides the reason of authorization codes, another reason they could use is that some might think you're going to make a backup of the disc and return it— essentially pirating the game. Legally put, when you buy the PC version,

Well, I have nothing against PC gamers. I guess my comment came out kind of awkward (I was tired and probably wasn't thinking straight) ... but yes, I'd probably end up picking up the PC version mainly because I have the PC versions of the previous Dirt games.

Zing!

I probably should ... I've been meaning to get some kind of pouch lately so that my pants don't sag down from the junk in my pockets.

I don't think I did ... sometimes, I do a quick pat-down of my pockets to be sure nothing accidentally falls out. I don't think I pat it hard enough for the cart to actually pop out. Last I checked, to eject the cart, I have to push the cart down and it pops out; not lightly smack the surface of the portable.

Possibly... I'll have to bug Nintendo when I get a chance and see what's up. I've been having a few technical problems with it lately, like not waking up when I open up the clamshell, and the clock and date resetting itself sometimes.

I can't be the only one but I think the 3DS should have some kind of lock mechanism on the cartridge so that it doesn't somehow eject itself when I stash the portable in my pocket. I can't imagine how many steps my Nintendog lost because the cart somehow popped out ...

You might be able to fax or email a copy of your student ID and/or your transcript to prove that you're a student. I know I did that when I bought a Microsoft product as a community college student a long time ago. Only faculty had .edu email addresses at the time. However, it never hurts to read the fine print and

I guess that could work, too ...

Well, if you don't have the 12 bucks to shell out right now for the prequel, you can pick up the original version for 3.99 at the Apple Store for a limited time:
