I don’t think any events were going on, and from the sounds of things he’d done it before. Might just be something he liked to do, or for attention, or because he enjoys the character. Definitely not common, but also definitely not illegal.

I think you should treat the books and the show as different beasts at this point I think they will be divergent, but ultimately end a the same place.

Awww. Thankee!

That’s really nice to hear, especially when hearing from a couple who are disagreeing more vehemently!

What’s it like going through life angry about everything? Seems like it must be exhausting.

The interesting point you make (or perhaps miss) here is that the reason these actors are known is for their martial arts skills, not their acting skills.

You don’t have to. I was explaining my perception and motives, which is a key part of communication. I thought breaking out the three groups would be helpful, but you go be you.

It is entirely congruent to write articles about how the next Transformers movie is deeply racist and sexist and that it should change, and write articles about a bunch of not racist and sexist movies you can go see as well.

But that doesn’t tell anybody about anything other than Transformers movies. It doesn’t give us a way to give our money to anybody who isn’t part of the problem, and Hollywood execs only care about making the money. Producers and Directors constantly have to fight to take casting risks, so even if they’re with us,

Yeah, but they come out on video, we can see them on Netflix and Amazon, and so on. Heck, we can sometimes get the DVDs even earlier.

You mean like this article right here, that we are commenting on, that focus on a American film that isn’t a stereotypical white-male fantasy and isn’t bankrolled by a tiny number of white male studio execs living in a bubble?

“How DARE you care about a problem where there are OTHER problems!”

then you are still being sent the message that asian heroes only exist outside the United States. Not IN the United States.

Now playing

Hey, I’ve got an idea that I think would be really cool AND would also do something to show people movies with amazing leads and characters from different parts of the world.

“Wanting characters to identify with” implies an inability to identify with what is being offered. If your child only identifies with characters who look like him/her, you’ve failed as a parent. Children should be taught to identify with actions, words, deeds, etc. — not skin color, gender, or perceived background.

The only problem is this mistaken and culturally-poisonous viewpoint that someone needs to look the same as you do in order or identify with them.

I don’t think you get to clarify someone else’s quote as a journalist, just saying.

“This is a really exciting thing that’s happened,” Elon Musk told reporters at a press conference. “We’ve been approached to do a crewed mission beyond the Moon...[and these passengers] are very serious about it. We plan to do that probably [with the] Dragon 2 spacecraft with the Falcon Heavy rocket.”- Musk

Question: Has Musk or SpaceX confirmed that it will only be two people? The Dragon 2 can carry seven; I wouldn’t be surprised if, when all is said and done, it’s two paying customers and a small SpaceX crew to handle the actual, you know, spaceflight.

Your response alone is justification enough for this joke. It appears to have landed precisely on target.

I’d take that over an erotic pachinko machine.
