Like you guys are one to lecture me on "intruding" on your forums. Whenever we tried to hold men's issues conferences on campuses across Canada, you guys would show up with loudspeakers, block entrances and even pull the fire-alarm. Isn't this the kettle calling the pot black?

There are assholes everywhere. People cyberstalk for all sorts of reasons, political, ideological, personal...etc ... But banning MRA groups on campus because of the bad behaviour of the few makes about as much sense as closing down the Centre of Islamic Studies on campus because a few have been "radicalized."

"This article is not about you. It's not about domestic violence rates among indigenous people in Canada. It's not about bad stuff feminists have done. It's about the co-opting of a movement to decrease domestic violence."

I never said I was a nice guy lol ... Why do you think I am in Belize. Read between the line ;)

Addressing the last paragraph, there is a disconnect. The actions of a rapist is not a state-sanctioned act. However, the prosecution of a rape suspect is done by state. The latter is held to one hell of a higher standard, if not absolutely higher. Therefore, there is no "trade off." Reminds me of the beginning of the

Why do I need to prove "oppression" when the numbers are way off in favour of women. There is no evidence of "oppression" in many areas where women are under-represented; it is presumed by law under affirmative action programs.

Those cuts were 100% legit. Basically these were activist masquerading as providing front-line services. Sometimes these groups overlapped and they double-dipped in federal and provincial funding. For example, the Disabled Aboriguinal Women's Network, NAWL, LEAF...etc ... These groups were high-level thinktanks which

I agree with you in principle. But your last statement proves my point in part. I say in part because you seem sincere. However, the money rarely benefits actual women (or men) in need. I tried unsuccessfully to get a friend of mine in the far north into a women's shelter. You would think a bunch of hillbillies ran

...Sorry, overlooked the accident gap thing.... I admit little has been done in the MRM. However, when I was a member of the NWT Human Rights Commission, I proposed that the NWT Legislative Assembly reconsider its pay equity legislation to include mining workers, which were conveniently omitted. It would have taken

It is beyond dispute that boys and men are significantly lagging behind in education. After the economic crisis in 2008, TIME magazine published a piece which said that for the first time in history women have a higher rate of participation in the workforce than men. This has been true for years in the Aboriginal

Just Google the cuts to women's groups in 2006 by the Harper government. Too many to cite. Quebec is a perfect example. I myself have abused the property tax exemption when living with a gf years ago in Montreal. There are very few hoops to jump through to say you are a women's group and thereby be exempt from

Insult me all you want. However, you have not provided any rational argument that what I said is actually wrong.

Oh I won't argue on the money issue. I think that both MRM and feminism is corrupted when money is involved. We are all human and human beings can be greedy and dishonest. Those are human traits, not male traits ;) ... There are plenty of women's "shelters" which are really think tanks with a cot in the closet who

The messages of "solidarity" are wholly insincere. I admit it is entirely anecdotal, but I worked for INAC (Indian Affairs) and the very same white women who complained about Aboriginal women getting priority hiring in the department were the same ones to jump on the public inquiry band-wagon, seeing dollar signs. In

Where to start? Education, employment, suicide, substance abuse, criminalization, victimization from violence. The presumption that all men are privileged and can fend for themselves undermines the welfare of males who are genuinely vulnerable. There is a lot of talk of a wage gap, which is debatable at this point.

To answer your second question, I will use an anecdote as it perfectly illustrates something which would otherwise take a dissertation length post lol

Pickup artists are not political. They are snake oil salesmen! Again, given the MRM is newer than feminism and we have no government funding or university departments, we are at a disadvantage. There are clusters of us who are well educated and informed. We tend not to associate with other MRAs, hence why I talk to

You are only looking at the most idiotic MRM folks. Plenty of level-headed men and women involved in the movement who are not combative and have a legitimate platform. I won't repeat the previous arguments, but I will say that there is place for addressing the needs of boys and men, particularly young men.

Disagreeing with their views does not make them fraudulent. There are plenty of women's groups in Canada who set up fake shelters for tax purposes. Women, just like men can be greedy and opportunistic. I know this first hand because I lived in a "women's shelter" all through law school. Long story and very technical,
