That reminds me of that Doctor Who joke:
I grew up in Southern California in the '80s and '90s, and the internment was always very real to me. I had friends with family members who had lived in the camps. Most of our teachers had taken part in workshops at Manzanar, and I think we all read "Farewell to Manzanar" at some point. I attended a secular Jewish…
You know what? Why leave America if you want to know about the mental justification of concentration camps? Just write about the roundup of the Japanese and anyone seen as Japanese.
I agree. I've been reading Jez primarily on my phone and my kindle, and the comments portion is an absolute nightmare. I've cut back on my visits to the site a lot, mostly because the discussions were so great, and now it's so difficult to navigate it's not worth my time.
So I have been reading comments for awhile but this is my first time posting. (I know. Cliche) But I need advice and people on here seem to care.
I definetely comment less with the new comment system. Some of my comments never show up and are perpetually in comment limbo, with a whole bunch other folks who also probably have fun things to say.
I agree. I never liked the old star system, and this is too similar to that. Why do i need to "prove" myself on an internet forum? This shit is taking itself way too seriously.
Ugh, writing a 10 page paper due Monday. I AM THE WORST PERSON. Does anyone know a social theorist that I could use to observe the effects of Hitler's Germany (and the Holocaust) on a Jewish community in Germany? No? Okay. It's the end of the semester so I'm in summer mode already.
I second this. Having so many comments pending really slows down the flow of commenting. It's been worse since the weekend started, much slower. :/
So a little back story. I've had 2 sexual partners previously, the first one was adventurous but we didn't stay together long. The last one really didn't want to do much n for the last ~2 years we really didn't have any sex (part long distance). So I kind of morphed into a semi-prude just because I knew the last one…
How do you all feel about the uncollege movement? I'm a supporter for a lot of things, but some things I feel you do need to go to college for. Has anyone here successfully self educated themselves on anything? (uncollege.org)
Ugh i am tired of ignorant Americans not understanding why a lot of people in the UK hate Margaret Thatcher and claiming we are hating on her because she is a women and how people should have protested against her when she was in power ( seriously, Google all the riots that happened especially the Brixton Riots…
Yeah, I prefer to read the comments myself, rather than have them chosen for me. If I don't want to follow a conversation, I just won't click for the replies (on the old one). Also, the comments are half the reason I read jezebel and now it is way more cumbersome to read them. I know people always bitch when a site…
OMG we have a social tonight!!
To me it's just one more piece of information to arm myself with. I want to make the right decision for myself and be able to prepare my daughter to do the same.
I have demanded the test for years I even gave my dr a letter from my mother's oncologist detailing the need for it but, they still refuse.
After voting long and hard for cocaine, I've switched my vote to MTV. Why? I want grunge to win over MTV in the final showdown.
