Emu is delicious! There was an emu farm not far from my college and they made the tastiest sausages I've ever had. Apparently they are rather vicious birds, but I can respect that since we are intending to eat them.

Hopefully in! I can't promise that school/work won't get in the way, and if you meet up on the north side my travel budget will cry, but I will try to still make it. I want to meet all you awesome people and make friends new friends!

Anytime! Your post has me hopeful that my sisters may want a relationship with me again someday when they are older. I would want them to tell me if the things I am saying are making them uncomfortable, though I would ask them what about what we are talking about in particular is making them respond that way.

Glad to be of assistance :)

Maybe a spicier pepper instead of just more? I'm sorry that really sucks, hopefully it will go away with a little more time. Woo psych meds, no? They take way longer to adjust to than a week or two like others seem to expect. I was unsure how many limbs I had the first month or two I started mine several years ago,

I am the estranged sibling, but also the oldest while the others live with the ex-step-mom still. What your role is should reflect what your relationship is with the sibling in my opinion; not what you think of their relationship with the parents. These things can be messy, I hope you can have good relationships with

That is absolutely gorgeous. I like to paint but don't turn to that when I'm feeling physically icky, that is fanfiction and movies on tv time. I hope you keep feeling better!

Mango peach juice mixed with a lime Mike's hard lemonade. So tasty I might just go make another so I can pretend to share it with you folks :)

Blergh. I was really excited to get my new bra in the mail today (old one's underwire snapped. boo.) so of course they sent the wrong size, and even if it was the right band size the cup would still be too small. Back to the internet since I realllllllly need a working bra before the family trip Tuesday.

The story about your daughter made me cry, that sums it up so perfectly. You are hyper aware of your parenting, you will never ever be your bio mom. I feel bad for feeling better when people share their stories of horrible parent experiences, but it makes mine feel less like something to be ashamed of, so thank you.

There is a basic flaw with your solution; if everyone tries to be the best at every single task, you will not all be noticed. That is what is expected. If everyone takes your advice then none will stand out. It's like what the villain in the Incredibles said, if everyone one is super then no one will be super.

I'm sure he does, but he is not expressing it in a healthy manner. Also, if the counselors told him anything, that violates hipaa law, and you should seriously consider filing a complaint. I definitely relate to the finding friends who have and are going through the same things, I just got back from a "coffee

I'm sorry about your ex, losing a support when dealing with power crazy parents is so hard. Do your friends know what it is like in your home? Do their parents? If you have given it a rosy tint for them over the years they may not understand that you need a place outside your house. I am willing to bet that one of

Thank you for saying that so eloquently.

Ahh I usually get the pewees, 2.5 through 9, with the concentration being around 3/4 so they aren't as self aware yet. I really like the idea of universal design for lessons where all lessons are planned for as many different ways for students to understand it as possible though, so I'll have to work on expanding my

Thank you so much for the reply, if things don't work out with lankyplanky's mom I will definitely think of you. If you feel like lending me any of your wisdom I would more than appreciate it. I just finished my practicum 1 in a 5th grade class and loved it; my desired grade is now at a tie between 1st and 5th, so

Very interesting, I know some disabilities are identifiable very young, so it makes sense. What do you use instead of IEPs?

I'll have to try that sometime in the room that isn't acoustically challenged! I find that I still am teaching mostly from one side of the students, even if that does put me in the middle. I did learn to orient away from the mirrors in classes where students are a little fixated on them though. I'm really curious, how

Thanks though! Based on your name, do you work with students with special needs for dance as well? That would make three of us within just this thread :)

Awe, thank you! I know that the more experience the better I'll be able to adapt plans on the fly, I have gotten much better over the years I like to think. It's just when I get students who are noise sensitive or have particular requirements regarding space that I wish the people signing these students up would have
