I was a super shy kid growing up. Had learning issues from a hearing problem that luckily was corrected but it still made me afraid to approach new people. Luckily I met some kids in my first year of high school that played D&D and they invited me to join them. There was about 10 of us and we all became pretty tight

I’m going with stupid. And sociopathic. Both of those assessments seem right on.

The Libertarian accent makes it all the more confusing.

I miss the slightly surreal nonsense of Nick Park’s early stuff. Like going to the moon because it’s made of cheese and meeting a coin-operated oven-robot-meter maid that wants to go skiing, or having a high speed train chase on a toy train set through your house with a jewel thief penguin dressed as a chicken.

There should be an Flag option added called “stupid” for people like this.

I have read every scrap of Zelazny I could get my hands on. Lords of Light had one of the best openings in any scifi book.

Amber would be terrific, but “Lord of Light” is my favorite. Jack Kirby even did some sketches for it!

Do you see how this response is exactly what Gelman was talking about? Instead of looking inward to examine your own biases, you presume someone is “talking down” to you when he’s discussing his own experience and asking for a greater variety of voices to work with and watch.

Also bear in mind, none of these ranchers, the Bundy’s included, want to own the BLM maintained land. They just want it returned to local control, i.e., towns and sheriffs.
