Ross was such a dipshit but Schwimmer was the best physical comedian in that cast, and watching him move is the highlight of many episodes.

Gen X guy here, and you’re full of shit. That show was a huge fucking hit, and I don’t remember a ton of PR: I literally heard about it from my GF. The show just caught at the right time.

Y’know, this thing you’re doing, where you piss all over something people like and then you’re all like “hey, I’m perfectly fine if you like it”? It’s pretty shitty.

I’d say that Ross wasn’t really all that bad, especially for the time. The really lousy part is that it was considered sort of inherently funny that Ross’s wife would leave him for a woman. He wasn’t the problem, everyone else was. If any character on Friends stands out for their homophobia it’s probably Chandler. 

The gay panic jokes were Joey and Chandler and it was 1994.

I recently rewatched the whole series, and I didn’t think Phantom Menace was that bad. Attack of the Clones is so much worse. The outdated CGI is way overused compared to Phantom Menace, which relied on a surprising amount of practical effects. Anakin comes off as such an unlikable creep. Padme is rightfully turned…
