They're alike in that they both fail to live up to San Andreas, or possibly even Vice City. Granted, V does try a lot harder than IV. Unfortunately, the five year development time really shows, and a lot of evolutions in gaming from the last decade are not there. The technology and graphics are there, but the overall

Mileage may vary, I guess. Personally, I found Black Flag far more enjoyable. GTA hasn't been fun for me since San Andreas, other than Trevor being the sole bright spot in the otherwise dull and lifeless affair that was GTA IV and V.

AC4: BF is a game that actually caters to the player by giving them a wealth of a activities and a fully satisfying sense of progression. I can't relate to your 8 hour statement. I still found reasons to come back to Black Flag long after finishing the storyline. GTA V, on the other hand, was a chore to finish, and

What game doesn't get repetitive after a while? Also, Black Flag had loads of stuff to do besides looting ships, and there was great variety in those activities. Even GTA5, with its massive detailed world, didn't have as much activity density as Black Flag.

Beran: "If something seems too easy, or it seems like a cheap shot or not terribly creative, that's usually the line we draw,"

The fact that Rockstar gets simple things like this wrong (which other games have been doing right for years, I might add), makes me wonder if the piles of cash have caused them to stop trying.

Depends entirely on whether you've purchased one yet.

How about "Mass Effect fan?" I think that would have been more appropriate here.
