Well, for me both the measuring and the settling stuff didn’t actually feel that bad, I mean yes, it was painful, but in no way the most painful thing ever. I’ve had worst periods, so maybe you’re just lucky with the periods, or I was lucky with the IUD?

I also got an IUD when I was about 21 and had no kids and while I did experience pain (comparable to bad menstrual cramps, but not the worst I’ve ever had) it wasn’t excruciating. I did have to stay at home and lie on a couch with a blanket, but other that that it was fine. It really depends I guess.

That sucks. :S I really love Panache (especially their sportsbras) and curvy kate (though they have very pretty bras, not all of them are as comfy or supportive as I’d want). I hope you’ll find some bras you don’t have to think about. Because even though that’s insane, it’s what feels luxurious to me. :P

I love curvy kate. Their bras are not the beige cone-shaped nightmares but all colours, and rounded! That has done so much good to my self-esteem too. Being able to feel fancy and pretty just because I’m wearing a pretty bra is amazing.

Don’t mean to pry, but what size are you? I’m a 38H, and ASOS sometimes carries elomi bras, which are amazing. If you ever get the chance get fitted (and get someone to be you personal shopper for half an hour) at bravissimo in the UK, do it. While they don’t always get it right (what I’ve heard from some people, not

Damn :( that sucks. I’ve recently learned that underarm fat (as in the fat on the sides of your ribcage, just under your arms) is actually boobfat that has been moved around, so I went from a 38DD to a 38H. Joy. It does mean I have to really force all that stuff into the cup with my hands. Someone above mentioned the

It’s proportional. So in theory a 34C should have somewhat the same measurements as a 32D. This doesn’t always work out that well, but usually at least okay. So if a bra does have the right measurements, but sits awkwardly, it really helps to go for a sister size. At least that’s how I always understood it. Someone

I wasn’t too interested in Shakespeare, I mean I get his appeal, I just don’t feel it myself. I was way more into the 19th century, so the women writers of the 19th century was more my jam. (Lots of Bronte, Austen, Gaskell etc.)

O_O Seven fucking times? Sheesh. I mean, I only did lit courses the first two years, and moved on to linguistics after that, but all the teachers and professors made sure you didn’t read anything more that twice. (ie. intro to Shakespeare (some histories, a comedy, tragedy etc), Shakespeare (different plays, same

Flying while brown is only just legal, but speaking arabic? You better walk. *sigh* You know what, it’s only 8.30 in the morning here, but I’m done with the internet for today.

Something my physical therapist said to me after I had a breakdown over my pain (and felt that it didn’t merit the breakdown) “Stepping in dogshit is terrible too. You are allowed to have the feelings you do. This is not a competition about who’s suffered the most.” So now I always think, “dogshit sucks too”.

:P But surely he has trash too? I have trashcans everywhere, kitchen, office, bathroom, shed, toilet, everywhere! Where does he put his q-tips? In the kitchen?

You’re welcome. :) having periods can suck ass, for me it also helped to know that most of the ladies out there have had a period at some point. You’re (almost) never the only one. :)

Oh man, my sister used to just feel like dying from the pain for two days. And she started when she was only 11. Mine wasn’t so bad (ie. I ‘only’ lay on the floor under a hot shower for an hour or so). She got the pill pretty immediately so it was WAY better.

Oh, I think I get it. So your muscles cramp to get that stuff outta there, but if they relax do they still do their job? Is that what you’re asking?

Huh, my IUD (also copper) made my periods lighter! I always like to compare so I know I’m not going to die/need to go to the doctor for having weird things. :P A friend of mine had the same reaction as you did, to a hormonal IUD, while those reportedly do lighten periods.

And then after a few days the tampons are still pretty dry, so you rip a tear in your vaginal wall, and now you’re bleeding all over again (this happened, it was fucking painful, do not reccommend).

Your nose also has mucus, as does the lining of the uterus, so perhaps it’s tissue combined with mucus and blood? I always learned it was a little tissue from the uterinal wall.

If I remember correctly it’s just tissue, not actual blood clots.

Since I got a period tracker app I feel so normal! They have a long standard list of symptoms (that I have only 10% of at the most) and you can add more. So I’m not surprised that people have constipation and headaches (me), or nausea, cravings, backaches, bloating, dizziness, indigestion, joint pains, etc. It feels
