I look around and count how many small children are on the plane. I then decide that it would be too tragic for so many babies and toddlers to die in a plane crash, so I feel a little better.

“There’s no time for rest, this is my quest.”
Yes, that would be the best reason! Actually, I’m kind of digging the idea of having two cats, one named Detective and one named Inspector...
Hmmmm...still think Mariska is a good cat name, anyway. :)
Well, then Mariska should have said the cat was named after her character. Olivia is also a good cat name, but not as good as Mariska, IMO.
OMG, I had the opposite reaction - I think I would be unable to refrain from strangling her.
Make it another old-fashioned, please.
Mariska is a great cat name...am filing it away for a future cat.
Hahahahaha, that is the best!

Yikes. I think even as a kid, I would have been creeped out by teachers doing things like that. When I think of the coolest teachers I had in high school, I think of people who understood teenagers and made things really interesting and fun, not people who “wanted” to be teenagers.
I probably would have been okay with going with a group of friends, but it seemed like everybody was going as a couple. I would never have gone alone if I didn’t have a bunch of people to go with me. I’m not sure if that was even done at the time - this was mid-80’s, and it seemed like a date kind of thing.
OMG that is hilarious!
Bad iced tea?! I’m dying laughing at this - this is the worst excuse ever and I love it!
I’m so sorry this happened to you. I think the teacher was a total predator, and I’m so glad that your parents were able to protect you.
My friends and I eschewed school dances because we were drama club artistes and felt that such proletarian pursuits were beneath us.
I didn't realize those were feathers! How gorgeous!
OMG, you win! I laughed so hard at this!
You look so sad/mad/worried in the first picture! I'm glad it worked out!
