I would recommend a basset hound. They are so sweet and very patient with children - I grew up with two of them, and I was always bothering them and trying to make them wear clothes, etc. The only downside is that they are dumb as a box of rocks, but that’s part of what makes them adorable.

Don’t use the cat pee remover recipe on a hardwood floor.

Wow, that’s so cool!

I am still scratching my head over how anyone could deny that a song is about lynching when it specifically references:

Another “Luvvy” lover, hooray!

If you like that, see if you can find a copy of the book “Luvvy and the Girls.” It’s set in a turn of the century Catholic boarding school and it is absolutely fabulous - my favorite book in middle school, and I think it was out of print even then. I was such a nerd, everybody else was reading “The Outsiders” and I

I’m just glad I didn’t see this movie when I was pregnant, because I think I might have considered it as a name for my daughter...it’s just too fabulously weird!

Thanks, I will!!!!! I think I’m going to be watching a lot of Mills movies in the next couple of months...

I decided to look up more Hayley films and just came across “The Family Way.” This movie seems really racy for its time - have you seen it, and, if so, is it any good?

I’ve been meaning to watch “That Darn Cat” - does it still hold up? I love cats and Dean Jones...

I always wanted to go to Catholic school so I could experience that - ended up attending a women’s college and I got all of that good stuff, just no uniforms! (Unless you count Benetton sweatshirts and LLBean boots as a uniform...yeah, I’m old...)

I didn’t know that was a Mills movie! I’ll check it out, thanks!

She’s really top-drawer!

My daughter just started Catholic school and I laughed to myself when I read the (very short) list of things that would get you expelled - one of them was exploring the Sisters’ private living quarters. Wasn’t that, like, the first thing that Hayley and her gang did?

Ghastly!

Maureen O’Hara is undeniably gorgeous, but can we talk about how sexy Brian Keith is in this movie? I never thought much of him in “Family Affair,” but he is just so hot in “The Parent Trap” I can barely stand it. Part of his sexiness is how much he loves his daughter(s), then add that house and the fact that he’s

I used to work in family court, so unfortunately, I can confirm the existence of many, many people who hate their SO more than they love their children.

I love how the students’ bad behavior is so tame. Oh no, they’re smoking! :)

I didn’t think I could love a Hayley Mills movie more than “The Trouble with Angels” until I saw “The Parent Trap.” I came late to the Hayley Mills fan club, and only watched these films because I was trying to find something to watch with my daughter that wasn’t just a big toy commercial.

Family meals with anyone under the age of 4 can be nightmarish, and nobody outside of the immediate family should be subjected to them. It is genuinely impossible to have any kind of adult interaction when there is a person at the table in a high chair, that’s just how it is. I think there is a lot of value in the
