I'm brown bagging this week since I have a steady schedule (i'm an inventory clerk). PB&J, on 12 grain bread: 35c. bag of chips, 35c. apple, 30c. can of soda 20c. $1.20 for lunch. A sandwich alone is $2-4, Subway has a $4 lunch deal that is basically the same, sans apple, with 20 oz soda. Okay, $6 for lunch vs.

I write romance novels and short stories (three anthology releases this month!), have a mostly crochet based etsy shop and have moved into small press publishing. I'm only semi-employed, so I do a lot of side business.

In Memphis, we have a fair sized pagan community and the local schools are not the friendliest to our kids. There has been much planning and discussion of actually doing an umbrella school, and applying for vouchers.

Agreed. On days when I need directions, I need them for work or errands and I need them at once. I have to be places at a set time and have neither gas nor money for getting lost. (I had to find my way to a bank I don't often use today)

Actually, I am looking for full time work, but not a career, which is why I'm reading this. I'm trying to figure out why I can't even get a cashier job at Kroger.

What if there is nothing that distinguishes you from any other candidate, that is acceptable to put on your resume?

I spent a decade pregnant or nursing. My labors were short, only one pregnancy was truly dreadful, and generally we had it very easy on the physical front. Sure a milk let-down soaking my pads, bra, and shirt in a store because of a crying baby on a TV (they were running Prince of Thieves) was embarrassing. It happens.

I'd rather be a lion because they sleep 90% of the day. They laze in the sun and in the shade, get up, and are active in the best part of the day: early evening, and then drowse the night away.

I'm a crafter, not a collector. I buy yarn, I make it up and I sell it on Etsy. I can spend $2 on yarn and sell the final product for $15. I do this because I love it and making things with my hands keeps me sane.

This is definitely an application of Scalzi's Corollary to Yog's Law.

I've slowly learned to leave books half read or movies half-watched. I had to send The Inspector General back, having watched only 5 minutes. It was uncaptioned and they talked too fast for me to follow, without blaring it to theater level decibels. (hard of hearing)

When I was working manual labor (unloading trucks in Arkansas heat), I shaved. It helped the deodorant adhere to my skin better and meant the difference between a sweaty patch under my arm and a sweaty patch clear down my side, including my bra band, which chafed when wet.

Flylady is brilliant. And she applies everywhere. I often take the Flylady approach to writing: You can do anything for 15 minutes.

On the other hand, if you swipe down their sunburns with it, I find the kids don't mind.

I'm a casual couponer.
