I have read them both. And i may have to pick them up again. But to me they seemed dated. Something about writing style or the technology just screamed 1950s to me. The plots, in and of themselves, were fine.

Alfred Bester is considered one of the finest writers in science fiction history, mainly because of his two novellas, The Stars My Destination, and The Demolished Man. I strongly encourage everyone to read them both.
