2-door cars are traditionally lighter, and they look much better. Two metrics of car enthusiasm that automakers have zero interest in preserving.

It had been two weeks since I’d bought my manual Accord, and I was freaking out. I was stalling this thing everywhere. It was a safety issue. I was worried I’d have to sell it. Two things helped me most:

Wow, that S800 is EXTREMELY rare. Amazing.

It always cracks me up that so many manufacturers wanted so badly to put automatics in their sports cars. They’re still doing it, too (Supra/C8). And in 20 years, people will still be swapping them for manuals, just like they are now with the SVX. So glad Honda didn’t make that mistake with the S2K. Can you imagine?

Physics has laws, right? And we change laws. It’s our job!” - Congress

Oh sweet. I wonder if it’s a manual.

Wait, what were we talking about?

Regular Tenet:

Does that mean we’ll be able to hear it like a regular movie?

This is the caricature we midwesterners imagine when we hear about NYC.

I was today years old when I learned that Baldwin was played by Edward Norton. That’s amazing. Gosh, I need to watch this again. I enjoyed the theatrical cut (mostly because I’m a huge nerd, and ooh, swords and cavalry charges), but I bought and loved the Director’s Cut years later. Time for a rewatch.

It’s impossible to describe how much better it looks than a current NASCAR body.

Yet somehow I feel I have seen it before.

Wait, that Oshkosh thing wasn't the only choice, but we got it anyway!?

So you’re saying that giving every single car the same type of motor is less narrow than keeping them on the road in all their amazing variety? K.

It's been mentioned on this site before, but Soup Classic Motoring is still gold.

I’d like to congratulate Oshkosh on this achievement. I didn’t think it would be possible, but they’ve proven me wrong. They’ve made a mail truck that’s uglier than what we have now. Stunning.

That’s fair, for sure.

Why is this even a question? Of course we should take interest in alternative fuels. Almost every cool car ever made runs on an ICE. You think we should just put those away now that manufacturers are jumping ship for electric crossovers?

We need to be paying attention to this. It’s the future of car enthusiasm. This will sustain our culture when 98% of the cars on the road are just slightly different shapes over the same electric chassis.

Honestly they have two of the best drivers on the track. I can’t wait to see what they do.

That’s definitely not everything I need to know about Ford’s electric push.

Where will they get the materials?
How many workers will be laid off due to less complex car design?
How do they expect people to pay for these?
Do they expect the existent power grid to handle these new demands?
Are steps being made to improve
