“They’d”

Oh, I meant wind blowing debris up to make contact with them, but someone else already explained the fencing regulations, etc.

Again, not something I said.

That’s comprehensive enough for the virus. Not for the impending depression it will cause. The people of Michigan are getting tighter and tighter restrictions without any clear plan for the future, which would upset me, too, especially if I had a family to feed.

That’s unwise. A failure to plan for the future is equally concerning. We need a comprehensive approach.

I voluntarily quit one of my jobs for “this thing” because my roommate has CF and I didn’t want to endanger him. I understand the seriousness of it. I also value personal liberty and can see both sides. Imagining a lack of protest to this is unrealistic. Yes, there is a very serious threat. There’s also a serious

If, by that, you mean that all rights are canceled, that’s problematic.

I didn’t say it should. I was just answering your claim that “if people don’t want their tax money going to support the poor, they are sure as hell not going to be donating to help the poor.”

And if people don’t want their tax money going to support the poor, they are sure as hell not going to be donating to help the poor.

Helping the less fortunate will turn us all into communists and Nazis?

Very informative. Thanks!

Quick question: How is it these things haven’t burned down the world? It seems like any windstorm could create massive brush or forest fires. I know there’s alot of voltage running through them, but I thought it was insulated by more than just a wide, fenced-off plot.

Totalitarianism almost always starts as an effort by the government to help the poor. Stalin, Hitler, Mao, all rose with the “people’s party.”

I think it’s probably for alot of the same reasons you did. Us vs. Them. I find the same issues in the Democratic party today, too. Knee-jerk reactions to anything and everything. It builds extreme tribalism until we’re not really one nation anymore. We’re two.

Seems that laws and defense are to ensure the welfare of the citizens. The purpose of the government is to ensure the welfare of its citizens.

If the purpose of the government is not the welfare of citizens, what is it?

Oh, I do. Do you?

That's your political stance. Many Americans believe the private sector is responsible for the welfare of the citizens. That's where charities come from.

You take your time.
