I send out an honorable mention to the smart car. With it's not that impressive 36 mpg (US EPA rating), cargo space that makes any sports car seem roomy and unmatched handling courtesy of the it's short wheel base and rear wheel drive.

I keep seeing Lancia Voyagers on car carriers driving through Detroit. the first time I saw one I went a little nuts, the people in the car with me were very confused.

I'm really not surprised he crashed at LSPR. Block and Higgins were in a dead heat and putting up crazy fast numbers. Reminded me of this Chevrolet Express concept car that was used in Back to the Future Part II. Between this, the EV-I and the Pontiac Pursuit concept from 1987 GM had some pretty cool high efficiency car over the last 25 years.
