I'm pretty old and have been a feminist since forever. I wear skirts alot but never ever has anyone yelled at me from across the street about how I was setting the movement back. You seem earnest in your comment but I am very dubious about your claim.

Hear, hear!

The ACA does provide (some) funding for nursing school. Planning ahead for the supposed nursing shortage in 2020.

As far as the profession not being regulated, how do you know this?

Yeah...sigh.

I don't know of any nurses, except for one, who went onto study medicine. Most nurses stay in the profession.

Nursing is nursing...not medicine.

Similar story....occasionally, the antichoice crowd appears at an intersection in our town with their signs and small children, etc. The locals clearly don't appreciate their presence, so the sprinklers are turned on full blast.

If only we could cut down on the depiction of women as the only ones who know how to "do laundry, dust, scrub toilets and shop for the kid's vitamins" type of advertisements....

I am a nursing instructor. You cannot learn to be a nurse from reading stuff on the internet. This guy is a dumbass.

What if you had your period while at the state capitol and needed a tampon? I am nothing if not practical.

I considered it a turning point in the debate. I wish Ryan's take on Afghanistan would get more traction in the media because it truly was an astonishing remark. Thank you for mentioning it.

I would also recommend reporting the nurses (if they truly were nurses...sometimes, various health care workers masquerade as professional nurses) to the state board of nursing. They were part of this fraudulent act (and I certainly wonder if you were told the truth) and have broken your trust.
