Whenever I've done this, I feel like I've ended up with blue painter's tape glued to my project. I'm continuing to go with the wipe-squeezeout-off-quickly-with-a-damp-towel method.

I'd still invest in the carabiners.

Yeah, but having spent many years with climbing gear racked on carabiners, I can tell you that carabiners are actually designed to allow you to get things off them easily. Unlike shower rings. If I was going to do this, I would invest in the carabiners.

I think I got mine at Sears about 15 years ago. But I can't recommend anything from them anymore, solely on the basis that they have to have the most hideously fucked up website in all of retail.

I'm afraid doing this would reawaken those memories of being on lead and trying to fiddle the right gear off the rack while my grip was slowly failing.

I may be out of my head, but I never had a feeling of discontent when having been assigned a book to read—I like reading and wish I had more time to do it. Another couple reasons...

I've got a Blendtec Professional that is probably 12 years old and has shown no signs of wear at all. It was horrendously expensive—probably worse than the Total Blender—and as loud as a 747 engine at take-off. But I think I could feed it rocks and have it make me sand.

I have never been more happy than the day I turned all my finances over to my wife. I hated doing bills, budgets and keeping track of stuff. I trust her—I did, after all, marry her—and she has more time than I do to fool with this stuff and keep on top of it. I know roughly where we are financially and where in

I should add that overall, it is a very comprehensive list. I'd probably add a Hanson stud finder, full size mill and bastard files, a small level, and a sanding block.

I prefer Robertson as well—I actually throw away the screws that come with most things I install and substitute square drive, and will replace the screws in my house with square drive when I'm doing maintenance. That said, for a beginner/cheapo toolbox, I can't see recommending square drive screwdrivers. Most of

As much as I like my Wiha drivers and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone, I'm not sure I'd put them in any toolbox labeled an "inexpensive." For the types of applications most people have for jeweler's screwdrivers, I'm guessing a run of the mill $5 special from Home Depot would work... Buying a full set

You said you have to "waste - a lot of time at work removing the damn double spaces from the text of people with your stubborn mindset so that it's ready to be published." So, if you aren't claiming to be in electronic publishing you do this because... you're a secretary? Maybe just in data entry? Aw.

With ideal space around tools—as opposed to moving stuff around on casters all the time—I could easily fill a 20x60 pole barn with just the woodshop and metal shop. Too bad I don't have the space to build one.

Pox on that. I live in a huge house and wish I had more space. Either that or I need to shed hobbies.

Hmm... I thought storing tomato based products with foil was a no-no because the citric acid in the tomatos react with the metal if left in contact for any length of time.

In the intervening five years since I posted in this thread, I've actually used a variety of meat slicers, both the cheap consumer ones and commercial units. I can't recommend either at this point for serious cooks. The commercial ones are a bit of a chore to clean, but the real killer is that they generally will

Who said I was talking about Word, dumb ass? Quite apart from the existence of stream editors like sed, "replace" is a function that is available in every program I've touched that involves any significant text entry, from Notepad++ to EMACs to Excel to Pages on my fucking phone. Your credibility as being involved

Mmm. I'm pretty sure my sink doesn't have that kind of flow rate, at least judging by how much I can get done when I'm filling the pasta pot. And the sprayer is only on when I'm actually cleaning the dish, but yeah, maybe it's a wash (so to speak).

According to WP, which correlates with my understanding:
