Been thinking about ~1949-51 Fords lately. Reasonable prices out there for just something different and fun.

I'm leaning towards the late model Challenger or a ~95-99 Monte Carlo theory. I don't believe it's a late model Mustang, or the Mercedes coupe because the front bumper to front of front wheel dimension/overhang appears much larger than those. The SC400 is a definite possibility, but the d-pillar is not as thick as…
Similarly, I had a 95 and a 96 police Caprice with a digital speedo readout dead center. I always knew what speed I was going without looking at it. Better than a needle speedo in the center because the steering wheel wouldn't block the numbers or end of the needle.
That last one's driving is tame compared to how ridiculous line of cars waiting for an on-ramp! WTF?
Wow. The line crossing is the worst of it. The rest just reminds me of taking cabs in Manhattan pre-Bloomberg. The whole things looks like it's sped up though, weird frame rate. All kind of nauseating, really.
I've always thought the same thing and will often wave drivers on when I'm walking. Maybe it's symptomatic of being a Jalop, that we're that we're that much more aware of the situation.
No doubt! Those tires look like half the fun of that thing. Although, I don't think they'd do much good in wet snow. There's not a lot of room in those wheel wells. But given the rest of the car, that's where the sawzall comes into play.
04 and earlier Odysseys can pull that off too. Don't know about 05+ though.
This is amazingly awesome of BMW to have done this.
Someone wake me when CR finally quits trying to review/rate vehicles. In all honesty, I think their announcements like this are more about self-validation and convincing you to subscribe/buy. Give me an old fashioned ad any day. Better still, use a user reported service that aggregates MPG submissions, especially if…
I'm so happy to see someone else use the word stoichiometry. #COTD
Not perfect. But a good start...
The BMW 4219ELi.
While there was plenty to dislike on ye' old "Luminae", they did have their moments. My 90 Euro coupe's highlights included being a TANK in the winter with so much weight up front; and an awesome, simple steering wheel. Rust was not kind to those vehicles though. Suspension rotted out pretty badly as well as the lower…
better still, learn on old <150 hp V8 rwd boat. if you can manage that, everything else is better and easier.
"LocoMotors"
Ya know, this could be a regular Jalopnik feature. Like Local Motors meets Axe Cop.
The above pic shows the nominal cost associated with this layout. $137k for 19 1980 era H6s (all I could consistently find a price on) and 20" rims+tires. All weighing in at about 6.5 tons. Figure with all the rest, it should total well over 2 Excursions. Probably gonna need carbon fiber for the body. ;)
I like the center wheel idea too, although I think I rev2 will see them separated and not as duallies. I could see that acting like a polevault. Although with the weight of this thing (I still need to add that up) I don't know that it would matter!
Thanks!
