I wish there was a down vote button

put an orange beanie on top and it'll rap about baking cakes.

Not a lot is wrong with Windows as a gaming OS, at least not these days. However, one of the big issues is that having Windows and associated installed programmes running in the background takes memory and processing power away from the games. Consoles traditionally can max out their hardware without having to worry

Windows in itself is an alright operating system. And it still is the dominant operating system for gamers and developers, since it has the largest install base in the world. But generally PCs are not the preferred way to play games, because people who don't use them regularly might find it too difficult or

It's an open-source operating system that is designed for gaming and Home Theater PCs. Also you should at least consider playing PC games as a lot of the most interesting games on PC are little indie games that don't require some ridiculous rig to run, and even the AAA games run comfortably on a decent rig built years

As a console gamer who respects Valve but doesn't play games on PC and doesn't know jack about what this means can somebody explain it to me? I want to be hyped but I really don't know that this is all about.

No problem, glad it helped!

Weird it posted my comment seperately.

Windows is an operating system made by Microsoft.

This is an operating system that was specially built (based on Linux, which is free, and open source) to support Steam. This whole system was built to make creating your own living room PC easier. It will also allow you to stream your Steam games form your computer onto your TV.

The catch: It only plays HL3.

Dafuq did I just watch?

It's about honey? Or maybe yellow diarrhea..

I use Linux all the time, the only thing keeping me on Windows is for the games.

A lot of scientific software is writen for unix based systems. I used linux all the time to run a program called NMRpipe in my old research

talking from my personal case: installed linux on my laptop in 2007 because vista was unable to run doom3. it ran smoothly over wine without any problem. never went back to windows since then, it just felt too slow and bloated for every process (even start-up and shut down).
anyway, i'm a programmer so i had no problem

I agree for the most part. It's not just graphics; it's what you can do under the hood with that power. Just look at The Division: shooting the tire of a car to make it lower to the ground, which makes it less desirable for cover? Stunning.

The PS3 was supposedly so much better than the 360 on paper, how'd that work out? The load times are torture and the graphics didn't compare- I'm no HD whore, like some people I know, so I don't really care, but when shown side by side I could see the difference. I want game makers to worry less about pushing every

Invisible walls suck, GTA games typically take place on islands

And just like The Onion news sometimes turn into reality, we have Saints Row IV turn into a serious game...

I don't think Titanfall is as popular as you make it seem. On the preorder charts it has less preorders than Knack, from the last time I checked.
