Overnight, eh? You get yours.

Refused to read the books but read a hilarious review on Goodreads that filled the gaps.

Hm, would clove bourbon work when made from maple infused bourbon? Whatev. I need to make this happen.

they should be allowed to share their concerns once and then if the person chooses to ignore them then you switch into supportive mode

This is the key point here, how much additional work it's creating for the teacher. Imagine each of 20 students takes off for a few days to a week during the year, at different times. It's a lot of work to prepare lesson plans already, but customizing that for so many scenarios? Ouch.

Would you say it's better to go the shelter route, or to hand products out directly to women I see on the street? Obviously I can do both, but I always prefer to give people money so they can spend it as they need. Not that these are mutually exclusive options, but any suggestions on how best to support these women?

I remember when I started my period, and my mom took me to buy supplies. She mentioned that she felt pads and tampons shouldn't be fully taxed, and that thinking has stayed with me throughout.

you are the best. i am totally trying that.

I have had a very shitty week. This comment has brightened my day. I wish I had wine or a bathtub.

I feel like the target audience for this is people who don't actually remember when he killed himself. IE born in 1986+.

I have so many questions! Well, I just want to hear more about your experience working there. No specific questions, I guess. (I work for a Canadian retailer as well, and I find since coming in-house it's been eye-opening).

Adding my voice to the chorus of those who found this incredibly interesting, informative and well-written. Thank you so much for this series, Angela.

Despite floundering a bit this season, that show has had some good moments acknowledging what life was like for Black people in the US during the American Revolution. Another one I can think of is the voting one (credit):

I know only broad strokes when it comes to US history (and apparently geography; today I learned Baltimore is actually south of Philadelphia. Who knew!) so I wasn't aware of the timing of abolition in the North vs. South. Anyway, in my quick wikipedia reading, I learned that literacy was actively outlawed for slaves

I'm sorry, Andre Holland cannot be reached at this time, as he is otherwise occupied as the star of my fantasies. Please try again in 3-5 years.

Huh. I had no idea Gus's ex-wife was a) Canadian or b) mixed!

Frankly, I've been putting off a move for a couple years now because I don't want to have to move all my crap. My living situation is getting annoying enough that it's actually forced me to start decluttering, if only to make that eventual move more bearable.

Command strips!

Ironically enough, Lifehacker has a slight issue with its male skew that it's trying to remedy.

Marathoned both seasons over the holidays and this is totally spot on, and well written to boot. I also debated turning on subtitles at some point, but ended up reading reviews to fill some of the gaps.
