I don’t think you can be in politics and leave after a long period of service and retain the title of a “good man or woman”. There’s just no way. There are too many issues which you will have to vote on or campaign for that are highly controversial. You’re going to upset a large swath of people no matter what.

Unless you’ve shown some extreme business savvy in your youth, you’re more likely better off getting an advanced skilled degree and work hard for “the man”. You’ll work fewer hours, have a nice and reliable paycheck, and less stress.
