I’m guessing the next big thing will be “guided” loot boxes. I’ve seen it a couple of times in a few different formats. Basically, you choose what you want to get more of and the game will slowly inflate the odds of that item as you *don’t* get it from other boxes. That way players always feel like they’re working

You joke, but pretty much exactly that has helped my wife’s body issues immeasurably over even just the past few weeks. She’s fresh off the boat from China and is so used to Asian body ideals that she truly believed she is/was some gargantuan when really she’s not even outside of standard healthy body weight/fat

And yet, I consider that Halo solution to not be a solution at all. It’s almost the opposite of a solution since it does nothing to say to the troll/abuser “Hey, what you’re doing is wrong.” Instead, it hangs 100% of the active requirements on the one(s) being harassed in perpetuity.

Been done. Club Penguin ran that way for over a decade. Mutes, bans, and permabans all around if you didn’t keep your speech in the realm of well mannered Sesame Street characters. Seemed to do ok for what it was.

I never knew I wanted to see a “Cardboard Tool Construction 100%” 4 way race run of a game at GDQ, but I guess I was wrong!

I prefer that to a flood of emotes, memes, and no moderation at all due to how fast everything moves. I see actual conversations going on. It’s amazing.

From what it looks like, it’s not that Twitch is hunting down the hosting channels and killing them. If you look, there are quite a few rehosts out there that are doing just fine.

Nope, you’ve got it right. All subs during January to the channel go to charity. Twitch just takes the initial fees then writes a check at the end to reimburse the charity for whatever their cut would be.

FTL drives are expensive, so they aren’t going to go into proton torpedoes. Torpedoes are also tiny with low mass, so the only advantage is that you’d have torpedoes you can’t shoot down. Which... you can’t really anyway due to their speed as it is.

Would also like to know this. I don’t actually own a DS flashcart, so it doesn’t affect me, but I always love when someone puts in the work to make a ROM “backwards compatible” like that. So many that don’t work on actual hardware due to coding for an emulator.

I think I’ve been Mandela’d (again, stupid Berensteins). I could have sworn that Mara was added as a dancer in Jabba’s palace in the RotJ special editions. I can’t find any trace of a movie appearance though, just NPR radio plays and Decipher cards.

Fair enough, that makes sense. The employees learned about it late because the management was relatively competent at keeping secrets and incompetent at running a business.

I’m confused. Are you saying that Disney should have told the Gazillion employees earlier that they were pulling the contract? That’s not for them to do, and it seems from the above that employees had heard rumors about that prior anyway. The lack of communication was all on Gazillion here in not keeping their

As I wrote in another comment, the legal aspect will probably come in the same way that most/all current loot box games use, in that loot boxes need to give *something*, while BF2's can give nothing.

I think EA made a grave mistake in one portion of their design that lends directly to this being considered gambling, in that the common rebuttal is “It’s not gambling because you always gain something, even if it’s not something you particularly want.”

I’ll take day one City of Heroes over what we’ve got now, thanks!

There were at least a couple times during BC and Cataclysm that I remember item duplication methods being found. What I never bothered looking into is whether those were related to mechanics in the latest greatest or if they were just found at that point.

So, instead of requiring 400 hours-ish to start playing the game with all functionality, it now requires “only” 100. Oh, never mind that you need cards for each of them to make them competitive compared to people spending. I mean, you could say that “You don’t need to unlock Leia if you don’t like her.” But how am I

My one gripe about the movie was the handling of the Warriors Three. Or rather, the complete lack of handling. Hey! It’s Vols.... Uhh, k. Fandr......... right then. At least Hogun got a couple lines?

Hold my sake?
