If anyone wants a good run-down on why “devs” make Asset flip games or just flat out crap games that they then put on Steam for the trading cards, SidAlpha over on Youtube does a great rundown on some of the minutae. Well worth the 20ish minutes for both his videos in case you’re interested.

That kind of thing is exactly why any “Game As A Service” game I work on I push heavily for having an ability to offline the game once we go to sunset. Sure, the server isn’t up anymore and you don’t have multiplayer, but at least all the campaign stuff is still available. It’s extra work, sure, but its goodwill

Ehh, it’s Rocket. He would have just McGuyvered a nuke from used pinball machine parts he had laying around if he didn’t have the batteries.

I was shocked that they didn’t pull a Deus Ex Peter and have him revive Yondu with the Light, even after Ego blew up. After all, the Light *was* Ego, not what was powering his abilities. If Peter is half Celestial, it would follow that he’s got Light powers of his own. Hence, some Karate Kid rubbing palms together

Luke, I generally enjoy your work, but I’m done with cosplay posts. Just like I stopped clicking anything from “Post a Top 10 video with no other text” Sploid, I’m finished with giving clicks and ad eyeballs to a post that’s just a bunch of screencaps from a video or slideshow reposted with zero in the way of

Well, in this particular case, blame the fans. Really. This strip is one of the “Draw the Strip Panel” panels at PAX. The guys get up in front of the crowd and take suggestions, and a nonsensical strip is born and uploaded. You can usually tell even without reading anything from the random insertion of either Div

Possibly. United *is* a Star Alliance member after all.

Watched all the That Poppy videos in this article, came away with a weirdly creepy vibe with a little bit of modern pop feel from a couple of the music videos.

As someone who worked on another multi-platform game and was looking at cross-play, I’ll put another one in the hat of “It’s all on Sony”. The original game design was to have the exact same game across PC/iOS/Android/XOne/PS4. Everyone would log in on their platform of choice and play the game with whatever the

While this is impressive and all (I’m always impressed with deep learning machines that come up with intelligible results), I wish the machine had also been set to learn which developers operated in which years and on which platforms. Makes it all even better!

To top that off:

To top that off:

Prone - lying flat, especially face downwards.

I’ve really gotta sit down and watch this movie....

Yes. The Wii-U has entirely unique architecture compared to the Switch (which is much closer to an Android device). Now, Unity and other engines do make porting easier, but different architectures always offer up lots and lots of hiccups in optimization. More SKUs = more complexity

Was talking to a former co-worker about this sort of thing recently. She’s in non-industry-related PR now, but was one of the PR team for the game company I was with at the time. Her dream was to become a Producer or Project Lead instead of PR, but she felt she couldn’t. One thing she said in that conversation

Flash in general is a no-go on Chrome, so I was using Edge specifically. Pretty sure it’s just my spongy 2 dollar OEM HP Keyboard here at work causing the slight amount of latency that hurts it all. I suppose I could setup Joy2Key...

I’m going to try it at home first with my mechanical keyboard. The one I’m using now at work is a crappy HP keyboard, so response times could definitely be because of that. If, like you said, the difference in slamming versus tapping is about 20ms, I could easily see the responsiveness in this keyboard itself being

One thing I wish I could figure out how to do (if you even can) is see where public transit lines actually *go*. Like, I know the 127 can get me to that cafe since that’s where I told it to go, but what’s the next stop on that line? All that info is obviously in there, I just wish I knew how to access it.

I’ve golded most of the Rhythm Heaven games, so I’m used to strict timing. Tried the demo, and I’m not sure if it’s just *ultra* strict, a product of my keyboard, or Flash latency, but I can’t get above a D in Oriental Techno.
