I just found out about this a few hours ago and contacted our podcast folks, who have pulled the ad and made it clear to the Panoply network that we don’t want this ad running on our show again.

You do realize that she writes most of her music in English before translating it over into Japanese, right? “She can’t do English song very well” is a brash statement about someone who was born in the States, can speak fluent English, write most of their music originally in English and translate it over to Japanese…

I enjoyed the episode but felt a little uncomfortable about the ad for Juul, considering how they've targeted teens for their products and how many teens may be into a video game podcast. I hope whoever handles the advertisers really gives that a second thought.
