I hated basically everything after the opening cinematic. That opening was killer. And then you’re an emo kid in college that has terrible music playing in it, and you have to draw magic from enemies and you all have amnesia.

Same with the death theory. I think we were all grasping at straws in an attempt to not be disappointed with that piece of crap. Hoping that the writers had pulled off something clever instead of the senseless thing we’d wasted tens of hours on.

I’ll play Mystic Quest again before I touch VIII.

Sure, but the game itself is even -more- flimsy. That’s why the theory is palatable. It takes literally one of the worst stories I’ve ever experienced, and makes it borderline acceptable.

Is this different than hiring athletes for your baseball team that use steroids? If you’re going to compete, you need to invest the time to raise your team. I thought the reason people watch sports was -because- of the athletes dedicating so much time into honing their craft.
