I decided to stop by one of my favorite antique mall haunts. Turned out to be a good decision because the JDM gods were smiling upon ol’ AP today.
Pickings have been pretty light for me lately. The local WalMart got about 50 cases of HW camo cars (no joke) and none of the other pegs get refilled with anything. What better way to cure some diecast blues? eBayyyyyy.
I missed out on K-Day. I was kinda excited about going. But, also not feeling particularly well. So, I decided to sleep in. I couldn’t shed too many diecast tears for long, a pair of eBay packages arrived with this amazing trio of awesomeness.
I had this old Mbx Lesney era Jeep Gladiator in my scrap heap for a while. It was, oddly, missing the front wheels and axle. I’ve always been a fan of old Tomica two-piece wheels, and they look pretty sweet on this beat up Jeep.
Did a yard sale run yesterday. Didn’t find much worth picking up except this curious little diecast by a brand I had not heard of: Imperial.
Happy French Friday everyone! Just a quick post before I go to work today. Snagged this Solido Renault 25 last weekend for a buck. Dare I say... I actually almost didn’t buy it because the build quality is “meh.”
The Zee toys DMC Delorean was one of my most favorite diecast cars when I was a kid. Not only because it was featured in BTTF. But, the fantastic gullwing doors just blew my mind.
Scored this pretty sweet JL Sand Stormer yesterday for a quarter. Too bad it’s missing the engine. Otherwise, it’s in really good shape. Overall yesterday was a pretty lukewarm day for diecast finds. Just found 3 cars worth picking up. One of them I will save for French Friday.
Do you think it has enough horses? hmmm.
Picked up this Nifty Honda Civic Rally car on the bay of ees. It’s pretty awesome. It totally looks at home in it’s native habitat outside.
A kitty delivery van! Yayyyyyyyy!
Today I didn’t go Yard Sale hunting. :/ Today I organized a yard sale for the cat shelter :3
Went to Wally World needing a battery for the remote to my car stereo. The store location is down the street from my workplace. So, I visit it pretty often. It’s been months since they put out any new HW. Apparently some fresh cases got opened within the past few days because much of the new stuff was out.
This is from my recent yard sale HAWL from last weekend. Tomica Ford Mustang II Ghia. I’ve always been a fan of the ‘stang II. It has a wonderful black sheep quality to it that certainly sets it apart from the traditional popular mustangs. This car has been pretty high on my want list and I am grateful to have found…
Pretty stressful week at work necessitated a nice self-rewarding yard sale run today. Hey, the weather was perfect and it just seemed like a good day to be outside. Mega-photo dump!
This has to be probably my most favorite HAWL yet. It’s got a little bit of everything! Today was Charlestown New Hampshire’s town wide yard sale. The cat shelter I volunteer at participates in the yard sale so I helped set up this morning and then my wife and I headed out around the town to see what treasures we…
I had to excercise a bit of restraint with Fintail’s mega-sale. So much good stuff to be had! But, my eyes were on one lot from the beginning and I was so happy that it was still available when I chimed in to claim it. The Matchbox Super Chargers Monster trucks were incredibly ahead of their time. This was back when…
Kinda crappy weather here this fine Saturday. Someone was having a yard sale up the street from our house so we went to check it out. Found this perfectly playworn Fiat Abarth in a bin for a quarter.
I snagged this Bugs Bunny Wacky Wagon in a trade with VdubyaJohn sometime last year. Another fantastic Racing Champions diecast with hideous wheels and a off-putting paintjob. As soon as I saw it on his trade page I knew I had to have it and give this Chevy Van a badass makeover.
During my lunch breaks at work I’ve been reading a terrific book about the Ford family. The current chapter is focusing on the shift from the 50's to 60's and has wonderful tidbits about the legendary Mustang, Falcon, Thunderbird, etc. So, I was pretty happy to stumble upon this ‘63 LoudFowl Ferd today at an antique…
