Every Year in July, Charlestown NH hosts a town-wide yard sale. I also volunteer at the cat shelter in Charlestown and we participate in the yard sale as well. It ends up being a pretty exhausting yard sale day for my wife and I. We stop at the shelter super-early to help set up and then we head out on foot to hunt…
During my usual yard sale hunts... I try to pick up items that I think I could flip on eBay for easy profit. I thought this tin-toy in a box would be a SLAM DUNK for profit when I scored it for a paltry $12. Welp, turns out $12 is about what I likely will get if I flip it online. Lesson learned. Don’t be an impulsive…
Spent most of Saturday working on the 1:1 Jeep. Afternoon grocery run meant an
opportunity excuse to visit a couple of indoor flea markets. I was surprised to find a transitional superfast Ford Truck. The front grille is missing, but shouldn’t be too hard to replace if I can find a donor truck.
This is why the 80's were amazing. You didn’t have to spend Subaru Outback like money to get 4 wheel drive in a little Economy Wagon. <3 Bear in mind that the Tercel was Toyota’s bottom of the barrel car. But, it was still amazing. Light years beyond Subie’s bottom of the barrel 4WD offering (the wretched but beloved…
WIP but relevant to RadCast :) 3rd Gen Chevy Caprice. This started as a PlayArt Police Car. Now it’s a more pedestrian Champagne color like grandpappy would have preferred at the dealership. Some Pirelli slicks upgrade this bad boy to fun-as-hell track day bliss.
Another “tribute” car in my custom collection. Just finished this one yesterday. I never actually owned a 1:1 Pathfinder. But, this pearl white replica is based on one of my fondest childhood memories.
Just a quick post for RadCast before I probably spend the rest of the day wrenching on the Jeep. :/ The 2nd Gen Mazda Rx7 will always have a place in my heart as one of the most awesome cars ever made. I first fell in love with it while playing Gran Turismo on my PS1 and eventually owned a 1:1 NA for bit as well. When…
The MakerSpace opened up across the street from my workplace this month. First class I signed up for was to learn the 3D printers. Yesterday I got to sit down and queue up my first print. Of course, it had to be a 1:64 scale car.
Just some quick pics and a walk down memory lane for me. I won a lot of diecast cars on the bay and it included this sweet mercedes. I bought the lot fully intending to flip this one car back on the bay and make my purchase free/profit.
The orange one never really appealed to me. I just wasn’t a fan. Yesterday I spotted this on the MBX pegs at WalMart and had to take it home. Love the tampos and color on this one.
The Jeep Gladiator by Matchbox was already a terrific diecast. I decided to customize mine to be the ideal trail cruiser. I added a bed tent, downgraded the wheels to my favorite classics, added a whole lot of dirt and a little bit of detailing. Overall, I’m happy with how it turned out. Looks like I got some q-tip…
So awesome! Love this livery.
Snapped a few pics of the cars that were in that box my wife snagged the other day. Most of these are heavily playworn. Lots of cool stuff though. Plenty of custom projects with these. The Majorette Audi has to be my favorite. <3
Yep. I married a keeper alright! <3 My wife went for a walk yesterday and the nearby junk shop guy (We call him “the Guy” haha) had this box full of diecast cars out with his usual this and that.
It’s sunny and beautiful here in Vermont. But, I can’t drive my 1:1 Jeep because it needs a minor repair (part on order). Ah well... this Lesney Jeep will have to suffice for some sunny day ORAT action.
Time for some more ORAT goodness. This awesome Dacia Duster made the long voyage across the globe to my neck of the woods courtesy of Jobjoris. He was kind enough to hunt this one down for me because I am obsessed with collecting diecast cars based on marques that we don’t get here in the states.
I was working on an off-road custom yesterday and got inspired to take the Land Rover out for a spin. Mattel did an awesome job with this. Love the tampos and color. It’s perfect.
I can think of a few cars that deserve the nastycast treatment... The Ford RS200 is not one of them.
I’m not really much of a Bimmer guy. I’m probably going to lose a few stars just for saying that ;) BUT, LALD ///May motivated me enough to mostly finish my Blown Bimmer Gasser project!
Awwww how cute. They even put a little Lotus tampo on the hood. <3
