I would love to have a huge tablet. Better touchscreens, more sizes, more motion control to make use of 8 from a couch, more convertible options, no more inferior resolutions. I hope MS makes a 13 and 15 inch surface pro in the future. Windows 8 needs the hardware to catch up.

Why would anyone put 7 on a touchscreen? The metro interface on a touchscreen is a great option to have.

My Inifiniti system worked well with and old android G2, but has problems with both my iphone and my HTC 8x (WP8). I don't drive enough to care very much, but I assumed the problem was Infiniti's fault.

Did you try the type cover? I have been very surprised how good and light it is. The keys have a very nice satisfying click

IR blaster is an really great feature, I don't understand why it isn't ubiquitous. The only thing I'd be wary about with HTC is their lack of support for their handsets. You have to assume you will get updated from today's android to next week's android in 18 months while the rest of the world is running version 6.5

I don't get the Nokia to android suggestion that people make all the time. Nobody does well with Android except Nexus devices and Samsung, everyone else is just a bit player. Nokia's hardware is great and design sensibility is great but I'm not sure its enough to take the kind of market share Samsung enjoys. I

This is pretty bad and disappointing. As a WP8 user I thought we had problems.

Now playing

I always think of the giant cell phone guy from Trigger Happy TV when I see someone talking into a phablet.

What if you rub the featureless piece of glass with your penis?

Agreed. That is a lot of stars for a browser box.

What is the best music player if I want to play my own files and don't want to pay a subscription? I don't have or want itunes on my computers and my work is giving me an iphone.

re: the amplifier - I noticed they're offering a 200x5 with balanced inputs on the at an absurd price and I know they are well loved on the interweb and by reviewers. I was thinking of adding power from my Outlaw 7125 which has served me brilliantly. Have you compared Emotiva to Outlaw? Also curious how hot it

I prefer pre/pros because you can upgrade without replacing the amplification every time, but for receivers definitely the AV 7007, 6007 and 5007 from Marantz, or their prior series (ending in 6) which gives you virtually all of the functionality without 4k but should be available from retailers at a discount.

I don't agree that CD would bump the price up in any meaningful fashion and it should be included in a full media player that purports to be your complete all-in-one living room entertainment solution. Not SACD of course, but CD. They manage to put it in $15 CD players I can buy at Duane Reade and $20 external

People might prefer to limit their components, and this is supposed to be an all-in-one media device.

Yeah, I have a fat model that supports SACD but it was first generation and I think it was killed off by the 2nd or 3rd. Sony owns the patent on SACD but the market is limited to people who are probably already using something more high end with analog outputs, so this makes sense.

I do and I rip to FLAC.

I agree, depending on the efficiency of the headphones. If you're using high quality in ear headphones it may be sufficient, I doubt this could drive my sennheiser open ears. It does have support for high res files which is a big plus. Niche product for audiophiles that value transportability above everything else.

The dungarees were terrible and prolific. But superior to whatever it was that Cerny's mom dressed him in.

There is an amp in this. It may be underpowered because it doesn't have a separate power supply, but I'd guess it is superior to whatever amplification is offered in most laptops.
