Grand Seiko's mechanical and spring-drive movements are pretty impressive and more accurate than a lot of the Swiss movements, although I don't think they sell them in the US since it is hard to get traction on a $5k+ Japanese watch. I have an old King Seiko day-date hi-beat chronometer from the 70s that keeps

It reminds me of the WWII era Elgin A-11 military watches with a slightly sharper font.

What's the point of streaming music to a TV? Do people use the speakers in a TV to listen to things?

Harry Ellis was one of the great characters in cinema history.

I think their USB ports in the mi424wr gigE router actually work and the router shows up on my network as being a storage device with nothing stored on it (I think storage is done with USB). That said, I haven't used them since my printer is wireless and stored in a cupboard far from the router and I'm already

ou have to rent the Fios modem/router or buy the same thing at a super high premium and it is generally a piece of junk. Their speeds are amazing, I have 150/65 and their gigabit router but they don't have 5ghz in their equipment so I have to use a second router to avoid conflicts with my baby monitor so I am renting

People don't seem to like this. This looks useful to me. I don't like having to tap out channel buttons and don't have them memorized, so looking down and choosing ESPN or AMC would be nice for TV. That being said, the DVR buttons on the top are a terrible idea and they are not bunched with a skip button, so I

The reference to a front wheel drive partnership concerns me. The G will still be a rear wheel drive, right? I know nobody on Jalopnik likes the G series much, but its a fun car to drive. If they took away rear wheel there would really be no point to it.

So you're telling me a robber would have in depth information regarding the layout of my 2 bedroom apartment? It could save them over almost 4 seconds if they ever decided to break in and rob me.

I like my first gen version enough, I even use it to play SACDs, but the technology is way out of date and load times are way to slow so I mostly game with a computer now.

Nexus 7 does not have 5ghz wireless right? My baby monitor makes everything in the 2.4ghz band worthless so I would go with Kindle.

Exactly what I thought this was. What in the ever living f- is that. I would not eat chocolates that look like that.

Washlets forever!

Yup. I was very interested in the separable components, but not just flipping a screen to go face up. I want a tablet that is lightweight and portable but that can function as a full laptop running windows and all of its applications if I need to travel for work or a vacation that lasts longer than a weekend.

I upgraded from a D-link sharecenter to a Synology DS411 last week. The synology is a great product. The setup is easy, the interface is simple to use, their proprietary Synology Hybrid RAID configuration is excellent, it's really quiet (especially compared to the D-link) and transfer speeds are adequate (3x faster

They aren't made by Apple?

No 5ghz connection is a dealbreaker for me. The baby monitor ruins everything in the 2.4ghz band.

If your system has a good DAC in the receiver/processor, there is no point in buying a DAC.

I see this article on Gizmodo and here from time to time, but I don't know anyone that doesn't wear a watch. Maybe I'm just an old. I collect wristwatches, from as far back as the late 1920s, and I am fascinated by the engineering involved in making mechanical and automatic watches. I also find it annoying when
