As far as I'm concerned the last good Metroid game I played was Prime 3 in 2007. Couple that long time with my complete and utter hate for Other M's betrayal of Samus' character and the franchise that only makes my thirst for a new home console Metroid all the more excruciating.

Funny thing is you CANT toss the story of Other M even if you wanted to because those godawfully written and acted cutscenes are 100% unskippable.

It wasn't a "bad game" but it was a horrible Metroid game. It also assassinated Samus' character making her into a submissive battered doormat girlfriend with daddy issues who can't think for herself even if her life's on the line.
