Obviously the original Diablo was a fantastic game, a huge success, and continues to influence the design of many games today (especially in regards to ‘loot’ systems). Was there any realization/feeling during development of just how big a splash the game was going to make?

No, but a) I’ve been very lucky that I’ve had very few compatibility issues with my rig with regards to PC gaming and b) I’ve only bought one thing since the new refund system went live, and it was the most recent expansion to Europa Universalis IV.

By all accounts, the Steam Summer Sale will be starting on Thursday (the 11th), so that’s something.

As a Canadian, given that I have to suffer through our winters, I think I’ve earned a few months of using AC each year. We don’t have the hottest summers in Southern Ontario (30-35 degrees Celsius which is 86-95 Fahrenheit) compared to the US south, but it’s humid as hell here too.

Why this instead of Mass Effect or Crusader Kings 2?

Well, looks like Sagat isn’t the only one with a tiger uppercut anymore.

Why? Will we be driving down the information superhighway?

In Splatoon, you can only use the tablet controller, not the Pro controller. The tablet controller is not exactly built for a shooter, making things like aiming and comfort difficult. Bafflingly, you can use the Pro controller only in a local multiplayer mode that lets you play against another player. Splatoon isn’t

Ooh, I know! We could get special keys for AC: Syndicate chests by pre-ordering the NEXT Assassin’s Creed!

I don’t see it as a curious move at all. Given that Twitch has had some controversy about which games they allow and which they don’t and has been doing it on an ad-hoc basis until now, this is a way for them to clearly draw a line in the sand with a standard and not surprise anyone one way or the other from now on.

That was my first thought, when I read the above, but when I looked at the video on my phone, it didn’t look like the core had time to recharge its shields, and just needed one more tap of damage than what Li Li could do. It was suicide, but Li Li was able to get adjacent to the core before dying. And it just feels

The extra funny thing is that almost any other hero than Li Li, including most of the other supports would probably have been able to get one hit in finish the core off.

It doesn’t specifically say it was the ESRB, which is US-only. This was done to be consistent with ratings boards across all the territories they want to have the game available in. Given that the cigars have been in prior Starcraft games that the ESRB have rated those games T for Teen, it probably wasn’t the ESRB.

- Keep an eye on Siege/Bruiser camps. They respawn fairly quickly and can be easily forgotten with team fights and objectives going on. On the other hand, be wary about going for a boss camp, unless you’re sure your team can take it and won’t be contested.

Actually, Tychus’s cigar was removed from his actual model/portrait back in March. You can see this forum post from back then that mentions it:

More likely, it’s the full release, which is in 2 weeks (June 2nd)

In one sense, it kind of is, as it gets players to shift to playing a new character and potentially change the some of the overall meta.

Ah, just what World of Warcraft needs - less players!
