True story. My wife’s water broke about 35 miles from the hospital in Manhattan, during a baby shower out on Long Island three weeks before the due date. We weren’t too worried about complications, but I figured this was my one chance to haul ass scot free in New York.

I was going 90 to 100 MPH on the Long Island

[SOUNDS OF GOOLGING XCHANGE] Crikey, that’s a poor business model, with as-could-be-expected results.

Point taken.

I used to think the same. The arrogance of Uber as tech company and a “disruptor” (Ugh, I hate that term.) just drives me nuts.

But, what if, instead of investing ginormous capital into making their own autonomous vehicles, they do research with a partner that has nearly a century of vehicle manufacturing in the bag

Nailed it!

The NFL has an anti-trust exemption from the US Congress.

I caught that passive voice bullshit, too.

And who goes to a child rapist for a blessing for his unborn child?

For once I can actually give a comment two stars. One for this and one for the original. +1 +1

Think again: Our national, civic standards are way, way lower than that bar Enrique set.

And they want their money back!

My dad restored a 280SEL in the early 1980s (seems absurd that a 10-to-12-year-old car needed restoring, but those things were rust magnets—quarters, fenders and rockers must have hoarded water and road salt like this guy hoards shitboxes).

Football and cheap beer? Wouldn’t that be today’s substitute?

It depends on the EcoBoost we are talking about. The 2.3-liter version in the Focus RS asks for 91 or better. And with 93, performance is better.

Now, will it run on lower octane? Probably. But don’t try going into sport mode, hammering the throttle and expecting to have the same performance.

But cost effectiveness

Yes, but they buyers and sellers weren’t buying or selling cars. Something more personal.

I can’t believe we’re having this conversation here. Octane is the rating giving to gasoline based on it’s ability to prevent predetonation. Period. If your car knocks on regular/87, put better juice in it until it stops knocking. If it knocks at 93, you’ve got a problem....or a race car.

If an engine, say Ford’s

I couldn’t give a shit about the lawsuit, but look at the perks in this contract? $36,000 a year in an pretty much no-questions-asked expense account. That’s the equivalent of $50,000, give or take, before taxes, since no taxes will be taken out—it’s an expense! Another $1,600 per month for vehicle allowance—for a guy

That’s taking it waaaaay back.

I just moved to the Carolinas from Vermont. Sure, I have seen a few stars and bars flags on front license plates or bumper stickers down here in my (mostly urban) travels, but I am pretty sure you see just as many in Vermont. IN VERMONT?!?!? Not even kidding. Grrrrr!!!!!

I never got a C&I, though some friends did. We usually kept the antics way out west, on highway 100 or 94, which has a lot more curves.

Who the fuck is Heath Evans?

Since the statute of limitations is long since up, I will admit to egregiously speeding on 170 on a very regular basis.
