To be fair, we’ve had supersampling methods for a long time; it’s not like HQx filters are new.  The problems been those filters only applied to the spite layer.  All that’s really been done is figuring out a way to apply a similar filter to Mode 7 effects.

I’m so glad that this genre in particular is thriving in the “retro” landscape. I know this game isn’t *that* retro, but I do very much get late PS2 vibes from the graphics, and the PS2, as we all know, is the Golden Age of survival horror. Honestly, this looks fucking amazing, and I’m really excited to play it.
