Honestly this applies equally to both Far-right and Far-left... I fancy myself a centrist, though I’m often called either far-right or left depending on who I’m talking to. What’s even more scary for me is how small both groups are compared to the voice they get on television and media. 

Actually Congress can put a check on the executive branch... they can pass laws to limit it’s power. They’ve done so in the past, such as limiting line-item Veto which was used extensively by president Clinton and is no longer an option for his predecessors because Congress limited that executive power.
