I was over twice your age when I first played it, and still love it to this day. Some of the worlds Nintendo creates are utterly charming, with infinite appeal, and this is top of the list for me.

Most of the restrictions on those foods are relatively new, and many are purely cautionary regarding the cleaning and preparation of them, rather than a full restriction.

Nope - figs, strawberries, mushrooms, leafy greens, cauliflower, etc. are all considered suspect for tolaim.
