I still have the box set with the hardcover and cassette tape. It's been a long time since I read it, however.

The ending to John Brunner's brilliant novel "The Sheep Look Up" ranks among the greats. Darkly comical as it is, it seems increasingly prescient as well.

The building is in the National Register of Historic Places - of COURSE it isn't being demolished.

Having grown up reading the novel, I can easily imagine a version without all of those things from Verhoeven's disastrous, supposed 'satire'.

How is a re-telling of the legend of "Mulan" (which this actually is, with a switch in cultures and settings) creating "a brand new fairy tale from scratch"?

Oh, agreed 100%. "Act of Valor" should have been the nail in the coffin of their careers, but this is approaching "Robocop 3" in levels of quality.

No, but certain other tablets utilize Bluetooth connections with their optional keyboards.

I hate to sound trollish, but I seriously can't conceive of a series in which I have any less interest than this camp piece of trash.

While I acknowledge some issues with the screenplay, they were relatively minimal, and certainly nothing in the film caused me any 'grief'. It's certainly one of the better big SF films to come down the road in many years.

It's not accidental, but directed panspermia. This is obvious in context and confirmed by interviews with Scott. Now, why it was necessary to disseminate the DNA materials in such a self-destructive manner is either a mystery to be explained later, or another Lindelof plothole.

I will have to check them out whenever I get back up there. :(

There was also an ice cream parlor in Port Townsend from where I had my first cold-brewed coffee, now my favorite brewing method for non-espresso drinks. It tastes like coffee smells!

I've not lived in Seattle for sixteen years now, but I know the absolute best coffee there at the time was Torrefazione Italia. I don't know if that is still the case, but I would like to believe that it is just to hold on to that memory.

Yes, it felt as though there was at least one reel missing.

Pour your favorite mixed drink in old Cthulhu, and garnish with a lighted LED party cube in 'green' mode...

Now, if Stephen and the publisher would only agree to the 25ยข cover price for this paperback, the nostalgia would be complete...

Don't be too upset - it's utter trash, and not the 'so bad it's fun' kind, either. Much of the visual effects and design work is quite nice, but the story and acting are atrocious.

There is a reason why they have looked the way they do - it makes sense, and it works. Apple attempted to dictate functionality to people with very specific needs, and it blew up in their face.

Indeed, they might have been good episodes within each series, but didn't 'change' anything 'forever'.

Two copies, boarded and bagged.
