It’s confusingly worded enough—and a confusing enough concept—that I don’t blame anybody for not catching it when the interview was originally airing. But it’s clear from the part of the transcript I quoted that she’s referencing “when Harry’s dad becomes king.

I was a bad boss, who sent emails at all hours - because I would forget if I didn’t send it then.  I have learned to use the timed send feature, just for everyone’s emotional health.  This is not a knock on Meghan, just a suggestion with others with similar issues!

I read some where that they specifically changed the rules (see, not that hard) so that the none heir grandchildren from William would be princes and princesses. So if it was changed for the other great-grand kids not in line to be King, why does the same rule change not apply to Archie?

Haha, of course. Zero surprise here. “Progressives” who get up in arms about class while actively denying racism is an issue are nearly always white male.

I checked and you’re right. No idea how I got that confused and thanks for the correction.

Bleh. I get emails from bosses at 8PM.

Probably viewed as “bad form”.

The HR department that made such a big deal of investigating a three-year-old bullying accusation is the same HR department Meghan said ignored her request for mental health help, which makes that whole pre-emptive leak look even uglier, in retrospect.

We were talking about Archie’s title and/or loss of security, which took place when he was born. We weren’t talking about the Sussexes’ security, which is an entirely separate subject and a discussion that happened at a completely different time.

Your quote shows the threat level had not changed. To assume that threat was going to go back to zero immediately was naive on the family’s part.

The incident we were discussing took place when the Sussexes were working royals and intended to continue to be. I’m not really sure how your post fits into that, given this.

Don’t bring the Corgis into this!!

One would think that they could sell off a painting or two hanging in some dusty castle and use the funds for security. Bunch of cheapskates.

I basically over everyone acting like this isn’t exactly what it is. I get that baby Archie may not have gotten a title because he’s the great-grand of the monarch not the grandchild. But so what - it looks really fucking bad. Period. The royals change the rules whenever it suits them (or are we going to forget how

Can anybody explain to me how SENDING an email at 5:00 AM is in any way controversial? I mean, if she got mad because no one had responded by 5:05, that would be another matter altogether, but the charge is merely that she sent early morning emails. How is this a thing? What difference could it possibly make what time

Response to vague accusations of bullying: Deeply concerning! Full scale investigation!

Sounds like typical corporate HR speak for “nothing will change, carry on”.  The Royals are a cult, plain and simple.

She said they were trying to change the rule so that even after Charles becomes king, Archie would still not be a prince:

I thought that they were meaning to change the rule even after Charles was to become king.

Yeah, they are going to handle this privately within the family just like they did Andrew. I call BS on all of this.
