I'm going to have to go with the majority of the cars on the QOTD last week about celebrity molested cars. Anything tuned by Unique Whips, West Coast Customs etc etc. It has to be a status symbol, because no one in their right mind would purchase one them otherwise.

They made it illegal in Quebec not to have winter tires a few years ago, and the marketing push has been dramatic in the last few years.

Correction: Most tires are next to useless on ice,.

He races too.

The only good thing. From what I read, it seems that they bastardized the engine as well.

I agree, I've been known to leave a window cracked to allow air transfer, and while it does make the inside considerably colder, being able to see out the windows can be convenient.

I have a similar issue. Where I live, it gets cold (As in -20 C on a regular basis). While you can buy the capacitive gloves (Which are thin), or I could stitch the silver thread into my mitts and ski gloves that I wear, frankly all the damned buttons are already too small, much less on a screen.

I'd still drive it.

So you are saying leave as a trailer queen to die a slow death in a garage? Taken out twice a year for a show?

They are. With the exception (So I have been told) of Vancouver/Toronto area (IE Heavily Urban), the rest of us have retained our sanity. There is still definitely a high % of Auto's here in the prairies (Edmonton), but more Manuals than when I lived in BC. Which surprises me, because they have all the twisties.

I have a friend who is doing this to alter his hubs on an older Audi 90 so he can attach newer wheels to it. It can be done, but you do have to understand how machining works.

This was exactly my comment when I heard this. However, in following salvage auctions and such, I have only found one of them, and it (with a good engine, one corner crunched) still went for $7800 CDN.

The number I was told is that a full 1/3 of STI's are totaled in the first two years.

I want some. I would send it to people.

We need more videos like this for all motorsport events. This told the story very well, was good footage, combined the information from the commentator so we knew what was going on. Whomever did this, please, for the sake of racing, keep doing it.

Now playing

At this time, I wish to present Exhibit A.

"Nicer" is an interesting word in context. Easier? Yes. Safer? Maybe. Nicer? I'm not sure.

I wonder if someone traded it in for a new accent. Given how much they give you on a trade in, I think the math works out.

Hofmeister kink. I personally loved it on my Celica, it is a subtle addition that smooths out the lines. It is only actively noticed by the discerning, but it is quietly classy, adding a touch of elegance to even the most boxy vehicles.
