Great read. As far as I know MB still does the free road side assistance. About 3 years ago when I got a 240d, I called and asked if they offered such a service, and they still did at that time.

Their use as taxi's is what makes parts plentiful and cheap. Although everyone seems to think parts are astronomical for any MB, this car is the only exception to that rule.

Good thing they put that shutoff in the engine bay.
