Fellow non-trad here! I get that a lot too. Not so much during my undergrad (I graduated last year, at 35, and went straight into an MA program) but grad students are the worst. I get treated like I'm a dimwit. It sure is fun to be smarter than they are, in front of others, but they sure don't react well.
