Since you like stats, how come the federal debt went up every year during the Clinton administration if there was a real surplus (and not accounting budgetary semantics)?

Don’t forget that it was his administration that was largely responsible for deregulating the home lending system that would later contribute to the credit default swap driven housing crash.

But in citing those stats, I mean, you know there’s an asterisk: the fucking Internet. Clinton was in the right place at the right time. You can’t ignore the greatest technological leap in human history when talking about Clinton’s economic history.
