The Toyota Corolla entered this world 50 years ago this year. Was the 1980s all-wheel-drive wagon the best one? Probably not, but I love it.

I don’t know who put this together, but it’s genius.

As someone who drives (and lives) in Montana, a Montana mountain road seems like a terrible place for Autopilot. Half the time, the roads could be described as theoretical.

Thanks. So, first a word on “disposable income”, which I frankly should have included in the first place. You’re right that, as income after taxes, the relative shift over time is dependent on changes in the tax code. My bad on that one.

Torch, I think this is good stuff. Love this sort of thing. But, let’s go a step further and compare to inflation-adjusted median incomes. From the BEA, via FRED (which is awesome), Disposable Personal Income Per Capita from 1959-Present, in 2009 Dollars (So, income less taxes.)

Ahh. Let’s replace the reliable and secure thing with something infinity more complex and likely to break to save 15 seconds of our lives everyday. This is so American it should have been posted yesterday.

Back in the 70's, one could have bought a Ford Mustang for like, $3200. Now it is more like $32,000. When I went to school, tuition was like, $4500 a year. Now it is $11,220, within a span of 10 years.

I guess punching a producer doesn’t seem so bad now, does it?

Keep in mind, this is coming from the guy driving a semi who made a left turn in front of a vehicle coming the other direction (ie, the guy who’s almost certainly considered to be at fault). He’s got a BIT of a vested interest in coming up with some reason why the accident wasn’t his fault.

Corellian Corvette CR90.

We live in interesting times, for sure. Have a look at the GTE field, and you’ll find that many of the road cars would top their race car brethren on Mulsanne as well. This is owed not only to the drag created by the downforce producing aero, but the fact that GTE regulations call for lower power output figures than

As someone who actually owned a 2010 RX350, it’s literally just an appliance. Nobody is impressed, not around here. Nobody actually believes it conveys an active lifestyle anywhere in America. If anything, it says “I have kids and I spend all of my free time ferrying then to activities.” It is soft and comfortable and

I really thought no one would care that it’s centennial year, but boy was I wrong.

Makes me grateful for our Canadian parks. Bigger parks, fewer people, a hell of a lot harder to get to.
