You’re very close to writing an excuse for a new anime plot.

Boat hug!

If we use the SEALs from the Captain Phillips rescue, that might actually work.

You have to take into account the trained dolphins with limpet mines. Those ‘missiles’ are just to keep you from looking down.

Landing in Denver can be a real bitch. It’s even worse up the road here in Laramie, I’ve heard you have to have sick piloting skills to nail this airport. I used to be able to fly for free out of here when I was a travel agent, which I did, a few times. (the turbulence you can encounter between here and Denver is

Denver’s turbulence is typically better than landing at Colorado Springs. DIA’s 30 miles from the foothills. COS is only 10 or so miles from Pikes Peak and Cheyenne Mtn.

I was flying into Glasgow (Scotland) once in astonishingly constant crosswinds: I could see the runway stretching out in front of my window as we crabbed into a landing, turning only at the last moment (it seemed). I was young and naive, and hadn’t flown a lot (this was the late 80’s) so thought nothing of it until we

Thanks for the jam. Here’s some toast.

I was fliing into Boise, Id with a 727 35 years ago , it had just snowed 4 inches and a gust of wind came up blew the plane sideways just 5 inches from the ground. I was looking out the window could see the end of the runway. The pilot had one engine on reverse thruster to get the plane strait.

I had a touch and go at Denver that scared the freaking crap out of me. It was rough going in and the plane was just dead quiet - the only thing you could hear was the fear. We touched but then the pilot gunned the engines and climbed out again with some crazy wing wobbling. Very scary. We went around and then came

*shudder* Flying is the best horrible idea we’ve ever had.

I came into Stapleton once in the summer, June I think, and all I remember was the really hard landing, going back up, back down and the cabin crew cheering. Got off the plane and the hot wind was just roaring that day.

I grew up in Denver - those winds are no joke.

I used to have business in Denver area and I really hated flying in at Stapleton & DIA as well, those freaky crosswinds were something that I only got to tolerate after 7 years of monthly flights in and outs but I seeing those GIFs brings back so many memories of me watching the flight attendants give each other that

I landed once in extreme crosswinds in a smaller turbo prop. My reaction was uncontrolled giggle. No one looked at me when we deboarded.

Had nearly the exact same experience flying into Denver a couple years ago. It’s quite the experience
