Thanks for the info. Sounds like it is probably a strong-hybrid system under the CAFE regulations. Here are the actual regs.

I could be wrong, but I think RAM’s two-mode technology is classified as a weak hybrid, which means they’ll have to equip the system to 80% of the RAM fleet by 2021 to receive hybrid credits. The testing procedure for hybrid classification is engineering gobbilty-gook so we may never really know how RAM two-mode is…
Mild hybrids get half of the CAFE credits as “strong” hybrid systems, and the credits are disallowed if the mild hybrid system is equipped on less than 80% of the full-size truck fleet by 2021.
A full-size pickup truck is defined as meeting requirements (1) and (2) below, as well as either requirement (3) or (4) below. (1) Bed Width—The vehicle must have an open cargo box with a minimum width between the wheelhouses of 48 inches. And— (2) Bed Length—The length of the open cargo box must be at least 60…
Toyota probably don’t need to worry about hybrid trucks. Toyota’s fleet will be racking up so many credits elsewhere in the fleet that Toyota can just transfer the credits to the light-truck fleet to help with Tundra and Tacoma.

My post is about the nature of blind ambition. I’m not literally claiming that millions of people will be maimed by Google’s autonomous vehicles.
Unintended acceleration gave people the shakes, and nothing will end autonomous vehicles quicker than an overly-ambitious engineer neglecting the basic tenets of human safety.
Oh right, I forgot about that..........we’re too stupid to understand the importance of turning right, and that’s why we’ll never be good at F1. We’re also not smart enough to understand the value of driving a fuel computer around a manicured billiard table.
zzzzzzzz
So.........Ferrari could supply low-cost engines in F1?
Always thought this Caddy concept was quite cool. Also thought the GMC Granite was awesome as well.
I like that drab green-blue against the red
