No prob. Crazy thing is that Group A is more similar to production cars than Group B. If you spent money on suspension components and tires, you car would have some handling similarities to McRae’s Legacy RS.

I learned of something disturbing that can kill a 4Runner N180:

I didn’t realize they already had separate rallycross rules in the 1980s. Good stuff.

Now playing

They killed Group B to make rally safer. I’m not sure about “just as powerful”, especially since the FIA introduced air-restrictions.

She bought it from her 40 year old son who’s living in her basement?

Fun times. It’s unfortunate that Group B cars never raced wheel to wheel, but I think the main culprit was the failure of Group B supercars, rather than lack of rallycross.

Everyone is going to have their own take, but personally, I’d have the car cryogenically frozen.

Sucks that it’s automatic, but the factory forced his hand. Sweet ride, even if a machine is doing the shifting and manipulating the torque converter.

I read through the entire thread and no one has put this yet? SMH

I live in the real world. Scientific discovery and computation are not synonymous with societal detriment or evils of the world. Plutocrats/bureaucrats inserting themselves into the race results by rigging an otherwise innocuous active aerodynamic device is the definition of human depravity.

Please stop. Just look at the budget. I’ve dealt with clueless lefties who don’t know the difference between the federal budget and federal discretionary spending. Even conservatives can get that much right.

I believe we both agree that DRS is a sort of artifice for overtaking. If you don’t think that’s a Pandora’s box, I’m not sure anything will satisfy your definition.

If you think “defense waste” is the crux of our spending issues, you don’t know enough to comment. Please examine federal spending during the last half-century and then get back to us.

I can blame the aerodynamicists for opening the Pandora’s box of DRS.

Aerodynamicsts are the reason F1 sucks. The people who matter aren’t going to forget just because someone at McLaren or Red Bull can draw pretty pictures. Not that long ago, aerodynamicists introduced DRS rather than reducing the dependence on aero grip.

It would be really nice if liberals had something other than reductio ad absurdum for once in their miserable lives. I’m no anarcho-capitalist, but the sins of our government are widely known around the world, and we do nothing about it.

I’m bummed because I put Harlequin Golf on that thread, but Stig-a-saw-us-wrecks stole my thunder.

It’s amazing what dazzle camouflage can do for an oddly-proportioned car.

They want it to go down in Detroit because the legal system has exposure to auto-industry litigation. Corporations want a competent judiciary so they can plan for contingencies.
